This election is over and Joe Biden is now the President Elect of the United States of America. Pennsylvania is blue again, as is the much touted Blue Wall, and the Biden-Harris ticket has breached the lofty 270 mark of electoral votes. Joe Biden also won the popular vote by more than three million votes and actually tallied more votes than any other president in U.S. history.
We have a lot of work to do: The country is divided, the pandemic even as I write this and celebrate Biden’s victory is raging out of control with no federal leadership on combating it, and the U.S. Senate is still under Republican obstructionist control. As of today we have more than 8 million cases of COVID-19 in the country and we have lost over 235,000 American lives. The good book says, “Weeping endures for a season but joy cometh in the morning.”
So let’s celebrate the victory and the fact that our country will resume it’s position as a bright and shining light of democracy and freedom to the entire world. Then we’ll get to work.
