One of organizations that I care passionately about is the California Wolf Center in the San Diego metropolitan area. They are holding their annual fundraiser on November 9th this year. The event will be held from 2pm to 5pm at the Orfila Vineyards and Winery. The theme for the event is “Wolves, Art, and Wine” and tickets can be purchased here.
California Wolf Center does great work protecting and reintroducing indigenous wolf species, like the Mexican Gray Wolf, to the Southwest portion of the U.S. Wolves went completely extinct in this part of the country at one point and they have led the charge to change that. They host a compound where they nurse, take care of, monitor, study, and eventually release wolves back into the wild when they are ready to return.
If I were a card-carrying member of an Native Indian tribe I’m completely certain that the wolf would be my spirit animal. I have visited their compound and seen first hand the work they do. I have supported CWC in the past and I even attended one of these fundraisers a couple-three years ago. So save the date, November 9th, 2019, 2pm to 5pm.
