Wow. What a difference a week makes! The last 7 days in the Democratic primary process everything has shifted. Fresh on the heels of Joe Biden’s overwhelming victory in South Carolina we saw both former Mayor Pete Buttigieg and Senator Amy Klobuchar end their campaigns. Less than 24 hours later they appeared live on stage in Dallas, Texas alongside the former Vice President and endorsed him at a raucous rally. Beto O’Rourke made a surprise appearance as well and also publicly got behind his resurgent campaign. While votes are still being counted in California and Texas it was not the night that Bernie Sanders and his camp was counting on. Joe Biden over performed and sail passed expectations almost everywhere.
Today, Elizabeth Warren suspended her campaign and ended her bid for the Democratic nomination. While this was definitely a shock it did seem to be a prudent decision. The numbers and the donations just weren’t there and there was no clear path to victory because she was just too far behind the two new front runners: Bernie and Joe. What a whirlwind of a week right!? The battle lines are drawn and we are now in a fight and impending civil war between the liberal and moderate wings of the Democratic Party. I’m not going to lie. I’m starting to have PTSD flashbacks from the 2016 primary race between Bernie and Hillary. I like Bernie and I like almost everything he stands for but I think my support and vote would have to go to Joe Biden in November. After four years of the most corrupt U.S. President in history I want an experienced and steady leader in the Oval. I think it’ll take a new and healthy administration several years just steady and right our country. I think that leader is Joe Biden.
Let’s go Joe!!!
