Two years ago I had the opportunity to visit Washington, D.C. Along with the Lincoln, World War II, and Jefferson Memorial, I took in the Martin Luther King national memorial. I was so excited because the last time I was in the national’s capitol the MLK memorial hadn’t even broke ground. Here are some pictures from the visit:
If you are ever in Washington, DC for work or play I highly recommend that you take the time to visit this memorial. The statue is bold in scope, the architecture is modern in design, and I think does the legacy and memory of Dr. King justice. He had a dream for this country. A dream we still are struggling and striving to live up to. The memorial is free and open to the general public. It’s an outdoor plaza so you can visit it early in the morning or later in the evening if you need.
