Detroit’s Pride celebration, Motor City Pride, is Michigan’s largest LGBTQ+ event and takes place at Hart Plaza in downtown Detroit. Organized by Motor City Pride, a program of the Michigan LGBTQ+ Community Center, the 2026 festival runs Saturday, June 13 from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Sunday, June 14 from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The Motor City Pride Parade steps off on Sunday, June 14 at 12:00 PM, beginning at Fort & Griswold Streets and marching straight into Hart Plaza, where the festival continues throughout the afternoon.
The festival features multiple stages of live music, drag performances, food trucks, local vendors, and advocacy booths. Hart Plaza’s riverfront setting gives the event a distinctive open‑air feel, with views of Windsor across the water. Motor City Pride also hosts pre‑weekend events such as the Pride Ride and Volunteer Kickoff Party, making it a full community experience. Detroit’s Pride is known for its mix of activism and artistry — a celebration that honors Michigan’s LGBTQ+ history while embracing its creative future.
