So far, I think I am right when I say I’ve tried a grand total of 4 different Irish Whiskeys: The two I am reviewing in this post, Kirkland’s Irish Whiskey, and Jameson. All four are blended Irish whiskeys, so it is fair to say we are comparing apples to apples. The biggest difference upfront are their prices; the Kirkland is obviously the cheapest option. Although all of them are blended, each of the Whiskeys do have their own distinctive tastes and smells. The Ide & Stills is more mellow than the Kilbrin, with a possible hint of honey. That may be because I & S ages their Irish Whiskey for 5 years. Irish Whiskey must be aged 3 years at minimum; and since Kilbrin doesn’t adventure the age of their whiskey, it’s safe to assume it’s been aged no more than 3 years. Kilbrn’s extra bite doesn’t go without being appreciated; the spicier Whiskey adds a unique profile to a coke mixture.

Ide & Stills

Ide & Stills is a wonderfully balanced blend of triple distilled Irish whiskies, all matured in oak casks to capture the pleasant and approachable characteristics of a true Irish whiskey. Soothing aromas of oak with gentle floral notes fill the nose while the palate is coated in sweet toffee, grain, and dried fruit. A must try for all Irish Whiskey lovers!
