In a dystopian future America, a team of military-embedded journalists races against time to reach Washington, D.C., before rebel factions descend upon the White House. That is the plot of Civil War, and gee, when I first watched it, it sent shivers down my spine. The movie essentially echoed an America with a Trump like president that consolidated power… I remember thinking to myself while watching this movie, “Well, good thing we won’t be stupid enough to put Trump in the White House again, right?”. So here I am, wondering just how much trouble America is in, with a President that is using the military and federal agents like a secret police against Americans. For being a movie made last year, it just could not feel anymore relevant. Go ahead and give it a watch if you haven’t; maybe watch it again.
