The Terrifier as a movie title at first sounded a bit generic, sorta like how children may use the term killer as their in-game name to sound badass. In addition, The Terrifier features a horrifying clown as its main character. Doesn’t sound like anything new, right? That couldn’t be further from the truth. Many have come to love this clown, who goes by the name Art. Unlike Pennywise, Art has much different beginnings. The character was created in 2008, and made its first major appearance in the movies on 2016. Oddly enough, this Michael Myers of a clown (durable and slow) was only human. Emphasis on was.
The first major release wasn’t the first time Art has appeared, but don’t fret, all of the relevant material appears in All Hallows Eve, which releases after Terrifier and before Terrifier 2. All Hallows Eve is an anthology series that connects Art to even the most random things, such as an Alien, a demon, and The Terrifier (2012; short film). Feel free to skip All Hallows Eve 2, since it has zero relevance to Art. The Terrifier 2 effectively elevates Art as a demonic clown, as he resurrects from his lethal wounds in the 2016 film. The most recent film, Terrifier 3, is still out in theatres
