The world’s longest lived Democracy that is the United States has always had different characters and be split between 2 major parties, but one thing that all of the figures had in their mind is their oath to uphold the Constitution, albeit subject to one’s own world view. It’s okay that different people had their own ways of trying to uphold the Constitution, and it’s been that way since forever. That is, until Trump. Never has any political party resembled a cult that swore their duty to a man, breaking their oath to uphold the Constitution. Republicans have proved time and time again that the Constitution probably doesn’t exist at all to them, since 2016 and now. However, these batshit crazy picks by Trump are certainly bolder than in 2016, so much so that even Republicans hated (or hate?) them. Rapey Matt Gaetz is one of them, being universally hated by both Dems and Republicans. If that isn’t enough for any amount of Republicans to grow a spine, then there’s just zero expectations for anything good to come out of the shitstain that 2025-2029 will leave.
