Today is National Coming Out Day

Whether you’re lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, non-binary, queer, asexual, intersex, or Two-Spirit, be proud of who you are and your support for LGBTQ+ equality this Coming Out Day! We first observed National Coming Out Day on October 11, 1988, on the anniversary of the National March on Washington for Lesbian and Gay Rights as a reminder that one of our most basic tools is the power of coming out.

In honor of National Coming Out Day, HRC celebrates all who have come out as LGBTQ+. Coming out as LGBTQ+ STILL MATTERS. Our stories can be powerful for each other. When people know someone who is LGBTQ+, they are far more likely to support equality under the law. We can change hearts and minds and create a lasting impact on our community.
