Biden signs Respect for Marriage Act

Under the Obama administration, the Supreme Court ruled in Obergefell v. Hodges that the 14th amendment requires all states to recognize same-sex marriage. Now in 2022, the Biden administration and all Democrats (with a handful of Republicans) pass the Respect for Marriage Act, which was first conceived in 2009. The passage of RFMA now permanently protects same-sex marriages and interracial marriage, just in time with a dangerous Supreme Court that could’ve struck down marriage equality. About damn time!
