The New Boozy Dew

It is time. Our favorite childhood sodas are now being reborn in adult flavors: Hard Mountain Dew (and several more that are worth mentioning). Hard Mountain Dew is completely the opposite of its non alcohol containing brethren; it contains no caffeine! This means you can totally enjoy it at nighttime. However, you are definitely not getting that caffeine kick, and there’s a good reason why: regulations. The FDA looks down on alcoholic products that contain caffeine, not because it is toxic, but because irresponsible people might not recognize that they are drunk since caffeine can mask the effects of alcohol. That doesn’t stop me from making my cocktails with caffeinated beverages though (zero sugar Monster and zero sugar Mountain Dew with vodka, yum). The boozy drink tastes almost exactly the same as its kid friendly versions; theres no bite of alcohol at all. The best part? It is zero sugar! The Code Red version is welcome, because I have never seen the zero sugar versions for the regular Mountain Dew code red (they supposedly exist, but they’re rather expensive/difficult to obtain). The Baja Blast is also somehow more mellow than the regular one.
