It’s finally December, but I’m not feeling X-Mas as much anymore

The Christmas Creep has continually crept its cringy overreach into non-December months—For the first time ever in my observations, people have put up Christmas shit en masse right as Halloween ended, before we even got to Thanksgiving! Don’t even get me started on the people who have Christmas stuff up already in October. And shame on stores, corporations, marketing, and advertising for their role in the Christmas creep. It was one thing to see stores with Christmas decorations and merchandise in the summer, but to already see on the air Christmas themed ads and music a full month before December 1 is just killing the holiday spirit. Christmas was meant to be a special, one month of the year of holiday celebration, but my cheer has turned into cringe since it seems everybody wants to celebrate it months before they actually should.

As a result, I really don’t think I’ll be putting up a Christmas tree this year, or any Christmas lights. I will partake in the Halloween decorations, and fall themed decorations to fall in line with Thanksgiving. Instead, I will try out a more leaned back approach—With a cozy, winter theme. Pinecones, pine leaves, branches and wood, with a warm lighting environment (perhaps with candles or candle like lighting), and the fresh smells of coffee and spices. White blue colors is also very winter themed, so I will probably choose those over red/green when it comes to clothing and customizing my lights. Do you have any ideas? Do you feel like you want to lean back to? Or are you convinced Christmas should just be everyday?
